Running Analysis at FitByKam

At FitByKam, running analysis is a thorough process designed to help you understand your movement, improve your technique and build confidence in how you run.

We’ll begin with biomechanical assessments looking at flexibility, range of motion, balance, alignment and potential imbalances, along with clues from your running shoe wear.

Using Dartfish and Leomo video and motion analysis, we then explore:

  • Foot strike and ground contact time

  • Balance and timing

  • Upper body movement

  • Stability and rhythm

You’ll see how the adjustments influence your movement in real time. Your biomechanics, training history, previous injuries and goals all shape the guidance.

Connect Running to the Bigger Picture

As an Ironman Certified Triathlon Coach, Cycling & Running Coach and Endurance Biomechanics Specialist, working with runners and multi-sport athletes across a wide spectrum of goals and events brings a broad perspective to the process.

Running a 5k differs from marathon or ultra-trail marathon preparation. Running off the bike in triathlon places unique demands on posture and efficiency. Returning from injury requires a different lens again.

Guidance is shaped around your specific aims - not a one-size-fits-all model.

  • Working through recurring niggles

  • Wanting to improve efficiency and speed

  • Preparing for a specific race distance

  • Starting your running journey

There’s no performance threshold you need to hit to ‘qualify.’ This process meets you where you are and provides clarity in how you move and how to improve.

Running Analysis Process

A detailed and personalised process for all runners and multi-sport athletes.

Before the Session

  • An intro call and information gathering ensures we begin with a clear understanding of your goals, training history and any injury background.

Assessment & Insight

  • Physical and biomechanical assessment (range of motion, flexibility, balance, alignment and potential imbalances, including leg length discrepancies).

  • Video and motion sensor analysis using Dartfish and Leomo to provide clear visual insight into your gait and movement patterns.

  • Running shoe wear patterns and design features are assessed as part of the process.

  • Coaching on personalised adjustments so you begin improving straight away.

Structure & Follow-up

  • The process typically takes around three hours in total, usually delivered over two sessions within a timeframe to suit your needs, with an optional check-in call in between to make time for advice, review, refinement and extension. The process can be rolled into a progression package as well to continue working on your evolving journey.

  • The process has a structure, while remaining flexible to suit your needs. We’ll work together in the best way to improve your running form, so you run with the confidence you need to achieve your goals.

Connected Coaching

Running analysis is integrated into the coaching process.

For those looking for ongoing guidance, planning, feedback and progression across all aspects of training, coaching brings everything together over the course of the journey - connecting your training, movement, equipment, nutrition and fuelling into the process, with running analysis and other studio sessions integrated.

A coach who knows you, your training, your goals, and the adjustments you need.

Everything is connected for a joined up approach.

Go and see this guy! I’ve been running a long time now - sub 20 5k. I really wondered if I even needed my run analysed. My partner bought me a running analysis with Kam as a birthday present, so I went along.  Wow. What can I say? The way Kam broke down my form and talked me through where the extra gains were for me was eye-opening. A week later at my track session, I was hanging with the front pack!”

“His knowledge as a coach and around biomechanics really sets him apart. The running analysis session was much more than just looking at me run.  He broke down my form and connected my physical assessments, and pointed out on the motion sensors how the adjustments were improving my stride. Really knowledgeable and a great guy.”

“Running analysis was amazing!  It was certainly eye opening.  I was looking for honest advice, without a running shop trying to sell me the shoes they stock, and I got that and a lot more! I learned more about running in the session with Kam than I’ve learned over the past 4 years.  I’ll certainly be putting the steps learned into practice and now understand so much more about my running!”
