At FitByKam, a running gait analysis & coaching process pinpoints and improves your unique areas for development in running!
During the session, we’ll capture and discuss video and motion sensor analysis to provide information around your foot strike, ground contact time, balance, timing, upper body motion and other key areas, including real-time insights into how the adjustments impact and improve your form. We’ll also analyse your biomechanics and discover the personal adjustments that will enhance your technique, then put them straight into practise to improve your running. You’ll be surprised at how even the slightest adjustments lead to great progress!

Running Analysis Process
An informative and holistic process for all runners and multi-sport athletes to work together on your running form.
An intro call and information gathering prior to the session to establish your needs and goals so we begin from an informed position right from the start.
~3 hours of running gait analysis and coaching, split over two sessions to include a follow-up and review of your progress and to coach additional refinements and form enhancements for your next steps. We’ll talk through your specific goals and running history, discuss any injuries and carry out physical and technical assessments of your biomechanics to discover the full picture of your personal needs.
The specific running goals you have will inform the guidance so that the technique you adopt is specific to your running aims. As a running and multi-sport coach, understanding of the subtle differences and considerations for specific running events is key to providing rounded advice.
Biomechanical assessments to establish range of motion, flexibility, balance, stance, alignment and other personal physical needs and imbalances, like leg length discrepancies.
Video and motion sensor analysis using Dartfish and Leomo software will provide you with a clear visual understanding of your gait and the adjustments that will improve your running.
You’ll be coached on the personal adjustments needed and we’ll put them straight into practise during the session so you feel the difference straight away! Then we’ll have the next session within the next three months (timed to suit your specific needs) to review, refine and extend.
Running shoe wear and the specific design features of your shoes are also analysed. You may well have more than one pair of running shoes, so bring them along and we can assess their suitability for your running goals. We’ll also discuss recommendations on suitable types of shoes for your needs. Crucially this advice will be based on the clarity you gain from the detail and process in the session rather than anecdotal advice.
Technology is incorporated but not solely relied upon, as no single data point or angle can fully grasp the unique nuances of your needs and specific goals. Experience in biomechanics and as a coach is a fundamental part of informing the process.

Running/Multi-sport Progression Package
An inclusive package of a running gait analysis process plus additional sessions to support your running progression, with an option for multi-sport athletes too.

The package includes:
- Running Gait Analysis Process detailed above (3 hours in total).
- Two or three (depending on the package choice) additional bespoke 1-1 progression sessions at the studio, which are designed around your specific needs and development points.
Once your running gait analysis process has assessed and coached the adjustments for your starting points, you’ll be taking strides forwards along your continuing journey.
If you’re a beginner and just getting going, then your progress in the initial stages will likely move quickly on from your starting point. Your progression will be supported with these additional sessions focussing on improving technique and any further adjustments as your confidence and ability grows to access further optimisation.
If you’re a runner returning from injury then this is a highly recommended package. The 1-1 sessions can include focus on strength & conditioning, with workouts that you can replicate as part of your training, as well as revisiting key points on your running gait to help embed your improving form as you’re able to extend your running.
And if you’re setting a path which is aiming for improved performance, then the sessions will focus on ensuring you maximise your efficiency and potential with coached sessions specific to you.
- As detailed on the Bike Fitting page, a multi-sport package is available that can incorporate a bike fitting and swimming analysis as well your running.
The package prices represent a saving over booking the same sessions separately over time. The included sessions are to be used within a year.
